Writing or Filming Competition for VBPM Website

To: Principals of schools, associations, teachers and parents
The Vietnamese Boat People Monument Association Inc (VBPMA) wishes to collect stories of the Vietnamese refugees in South Australia for its dedicated web site. As part of this, the VBPMA will hold a writing/filming contest on the topic “Vietnamese Boat People in Australia”.
Terms and conditions for the writing/filming competition are:
- The contest is open to entrants who are residents in Australia / South Australia, aged 13 – 25.
- Submissions must address one or more of the following aspects of the Vietnamese refugee story: The Causes, The Journey, Lives in refugee camps and The settlement. Written entries must be under 2,000 words. Video clips must be no more than five minutes long. Content must be unique and belongs solely to the entrant.
- Entries must be submitted between March 23rd, 2020 and 9:00 pm Sunday, July, 2020 to vbpm.sa@gmail.com. A confirmation e-mail will be sent back upon receipt.
- By submitting an entry, the entrant irrevocably grants the VBPMA the unconditional and perpetual right to adapt and publish on its website, which will be launched in May 2020.
- Entries will be considered for three awards, which will be announced in Vietnamese newspapers on July 17, 2020: First prize: $ 500; Second prize: $ 200; Third prize: $ 100
- In case of limited [TH1] participation (under 5), entries will not be judged for prizes, but each entrant will be awarded a gift worth $100.
